{"id":2873,"date":"2018-03-09T14:07:10","date_gmt":"2018-03-09T14:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gowestours.pt\/?post_type=product&#038;p=2873"},"modified":"2018-03-09T14:34:23","modified_gmt":"2018-03-09T14:34:23","slug":"one-day-in-aveiro","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.gowestours.pt\/?product=one-day-in-aveiro","title":{"rendered":"ONE DAY IN AVEIRO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We leave the West towards one of the most charming Portuguese cities, known as the &#8220;Portuguese Venice&#8221;, starting our tour before arriving the city of Aveiro, in the Maritime Museum of \u00cdlhavo, which testifies the strong connection of the \u00cdlhavo&#8217;s people to the sea as well as cod fishing in the seas of Greenland.<\/p>\n<p>We continue towards the city of Aveiro where we will find the former female Dominican convent where Santa Joana Princess lived and where the community of nuns lived for almost four centuries.<\/p>\n<p>We continue our visit through the sweet flavors of the sweet-eggs (Ovos moles) from Aveiro, where we will have the opportunity to know a little more of this art and how its manufactured. Free time to lunch.<\/p>\n<p>After lunch we will appreciate the architecture and surrounding of the city along its chanels aboard one of its famous moliceiros boats. Returning to the sea, we will visit the Santo Andr\u00e9 Ship Museum, which was part of the Portuguese cod fleet and intends to illustrate the trawling arts, showing how the trawling of cod was and honoring the memory of all its crew during half a century of activity.<\/p>\n<p>We will end our tour with a pleasant walk along the beach of Costa Nova and its colorful &#8220;Palheiros&#8221;, old warehouses to store the fishing equipment painted with colored stripes and that are now bathing residences.
